Thousands of villagers in the area of T/A Mponda in Mangochi district are living in absolute panic after elephants resorted to destroying people’s homes and crops in search of food.

For years now, the elephants have been moving out of the Phirilongwe Forest Reserve in quest of food in nearby villages because they have nothing to eat in their territory.
