Om Monday, the 21st I took the train to Seattle where I was picked up in the evening by Danae Goss who was my host for three nights. During the day I did computer work preparing for the next series of presentations and events. The AAZK icebreaker was the evening of the 24th. A COOL Crafts booth of Kenya handcrafts was set up for the entire AAZK conference (25-29th). On the 27th I gave a presentation to the conference attendees – while the focus was on ACK, I also introduced CaLL to the group. On Zoo day at the Woodland Park Zoo I met with the AAZK board, Bowling for Rhinos (Patty Pearthree), Lewa Conservancy (Richard Moller) and International Rhino Foundation (Suzi Ellis). Starting this year ACK is receiving a portion of the funds raised by BFR. It is the goal of AAZK to increase the participation in the BFR event through promotion of the joint efforts of our programmes and the variety of habitats and species which are protected through the fund raising efforts.
